Action required: Changes to Free School Meals
New national changes mean that all families who get Free School Meals need to reapply before the start of the new school year in September. From September, all children from homes that get Universal Credit will be able to get Free School Meals. Families who get some other benefits and support may also be able to get Free School Meals.

Please note:

- Families that have children that attend different schools, they must apply for each child at each respective school using their application process
- Parents/carers that have children in reception Year 1 and Year 2 in September 2026 will continue to get Universal Infant Free School Meals but parents/carers should still apply as their child may be entitled to additional benefits such as Pupil Premium and HAF.
