This Monday the PE Department and Steve Burdett organised for two York Rl international stars and the club’s foundation delivery manager, Adam Prentis, to visit the school. The players were Sam Cook from Nelson, New Zealand and Jesse Dee from Sydney, Australia. The community development officer, Adam Prentis, first gave a brief outline of what the club represents and how they plan to develop links with local schools then the players talked about where they were from; what it takes to be a professional sportsman and how they had begun playing rugby. The players then answered a few questions from pupils then visited classrooms to introduce themselves to some pupils who hadn’t quite been able to access the presentation. Hopefully the players captured the imaginations of a few of our young people and might lead to better choices in the future.
